* Pen making

Hello, well guess who has been told to self isolate for 8 days because I dared go to the dentist and came in contact with someone that has covid. Well gotta look on the bright side, at least I can do some more prep for the show.

So I finished off the few pens that I did last week. Including a brand new section design and a new pen shape. But let’s start off with the image of the pen I posted as the main image. I don’t do metal work often but I am so proud of how this one turned out. I certainly will be doing more in the future.

I have two customer orders, the first is an [Aequitas](https://i.imgur.com/th7hRQL.jpg) in our own [material](https://i.imgur.com/s2JsKDP.jpg). I have managed to match the pattern and it has come up to a lovely shine, you can’t see it very well in the image but it is actually purple and blue. The other one is an Aphrodite, which is one of my favourite designs, even if it is a simple shape. Again it is one of our own [materials](https://i.imgur.com/Yz1dK3V.jpg), I like it, it’s pretty, very shiny too.

The new design I showed making it last week but here is the final polished version. I have made two so far one in [ebonite](https://i.imgur.com/DNvcc0d.jpg) and one in [acrylic](https://i.imgur.com/UBVmgIw.jpg) the prototype I made was made out of our own resin. I do plan to do demonstrators of all of my pens at some point, just not yet. So a better look at the [end](https://i.imgur.com/FaMY88d.jpg) and then of the flat edges of the [acrylic](https://i.imgur.com/VZyxRQ0.jpg) this design has been bubbling around my brain pan for a while but I thought I would make some more as I got an order for one from a family member.

The other element to the new design is a simple moving of the threads. I have moved them from the barrel to the end of the [section](https://i.imgur.com/4KIMxH6.jpg). This will allow me to offer a much greater variety of pen dimensions as I am no longer restricted to the diameter of the cap and barrel threads.

* pen show preparation

We have a banner! So I should be easier to spot at the London Pen show on July 25^th in Hammersmith. I have already got permission from my daughter to post this, [check it out](https://i.imgur.com/UdrTWjB.jpg). Apologies for the mess and the crazy daughter.

Other things are going full steam ahead. I am starting to get very nervous.

* Photography

So I set up the same photo for three cameras that I have access too to show the difference we can get. The first one is a bit misty and that is from my samsung s9+ phone [camera](https://i.imgur.com/BYHhOYo.jpg). The next one is from my [webcam](https://i.imgur.com/lWYNUgB.jpg). The final image is from the new digital SLR, there is a massive difference as you can [see](https://i.imgur.com/w7FQd2l.jpg).
