* pen making

So I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew with the trying to make 10 pens in one weak. I have got a lot to finish off as you can see in the photo. Plus I am intending to make a few blanks this weekend. Two for clients, a test run of a mold I made and then just playing around with some colour mixes. The two client ones are a yellow, black and orange mix using [these pigments](https://i.imgur.com/cXfUfKq.jpg) then one based upon an amethyst, so, lots or [purple](https://i.imgur.com/V41uYXJ.jpg) , even the white and black shine up as purple with the right light. Thing is that even though I make my own blanks, I also buy in a hell of a lot. Since the pen show I have been on a bit of a binge. I have been utilising the few uk based blank makers I knoe, 363 blanks and TQ blanks, I have been getting stuff from Beaufort ink in the way of diamond cast too. I am hoping to get some Turnt pen co blanks and some dupras ones. Then when Mr Brooks refills his website I am hoping I am in time to get some of them too, I also have some vintage ones from turners workshop too. So on with the two pens I have been making. They are mostly the same shape which is the icarus. There are also a mix of customer pens along with a birthday present (for my nephew, who has been told he can use proper pens at school now so wanted one from me), his is the [red one](https://i.imgur.com/qqfnspB.jpg) . Then there are the two which involve metal work, which took forever because I kept messing it up, I am not used to doing metal work and working with stainless steel [takes time](https://i.imgur.com/KQTTNZI.jpg) .

I have a spare titanium nib which I have written off as the client it was bought for hasn’t come back to me, when they do I will order a new one. So I figured I would make myself a pen of the new design as I only have the prototype of that design. The blank is amazing, it had some lovely little secrets hiding under the surface. They say to not dip into your own stash but I can’t help it sometimes.
