* pen making

A very brief one today. There will be no update next week as it is the London Pen show. I have been busting my balls trying to get up to the magic 80 pens (as much as I can carry in 1 box). I had 2 Zeus models ready to be shaped this morning. I polished a load of other pens in face [these pens](https://i.imgur.com/I0sh0O6.jpg). I finished all them, went to do the Zeus models. Had one, it was a really nice blank.

Well disaster hit, I experienced my first ever cap blow out, the side of the cap just erupted out. It was like something from Alien. No idea why it happened. I know it happened when I was drilling [here is the result](https://i.imgur.com/PpgfVdS.jpg). So now I had 1 pen half done as I had to put that one in the damaged pile until I found a compatible blank to make the cap from.

What occurred next was a mad rush to get as much done as possible. I managed to get 3 more pens done in the next hour with just the sections to do. I think I shall do those tomorrow where I can make 1 more pen and it will be all good.

Other than that I have attempted using clear slow again. [this is what came out of the attempt](https://i.imgur.com/hfio5Ft.jpg) . I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I want to get the swirly effect but I just can’t manage it, no idea what I am doing wrong.
